Reenacting
Finally attended my first reenacting event. Started out horrible but did get better. Had some problems with my dress and stuff so was hurring to finish it on Thursday and time was running out. Ask DH and DS to go down early and set up the tent and stuff he had before me so they could get it done in day light. After I finished the dress the best I could and brought the dog over to the neighbors to be taken care of Steph and I left to start our journey. Had to stop at the store to buy a few things and then we headed out.
Arrived about 8:30 only to discover Tom had left to go look for me (he felt I was much later than I should have been and didn't have my cell phone number to call me). After about an hour of waiting he finally called me. He was all the way back home and didn't want to drive back out. After much discussion (Steph and I had no place to sleep) he agreed to come back out. After about 2 hours he arrived (drive should take a hour), he had had a flat on the way down.
After finally getting the tent set up we all went to bed. I had been asleep for maybe 2 hours when Tom woke me up and said he wanted to leave. The night had turned very cold and he was misrable with that and his hip and knee hurting. So we all got up and packed everything up and left.
Steph and I drove back down on Saturday and had a nice day we were able to borrow a dress for her to wear. Tom did not take part as he ran into the same issues he ran into at Camp Milton. I think I have him convinced that he will not be able to be in a military unit since he feels he must be an officer due to his physical issues and that does not sit well with the members of the military units. We will try having him be a civilian and see what happens.
