Havent been around for a while

I haven't posted for a long time. Life just got in the way. My mother has been having health problems so she is now moving into an assisted living. The bad part is she has to give up her dog. Luckily we have found a new home for him with someone who loves him.
I just had some oral surgery, had about 2/3 of my teeth pulled. Most of them were broken due to medication I have to take and I will get the rest pull in a few months.
I have been duing a lot of sewing lately and a little knitting. I made a second dress for Civil War reenacting and recently made a rag doll as a baby gift for a shower with a Civil War theme.
The kids started school today, both are in High school this year. My son is taking ROTC this year and is really pumped about it. Daughter is taking 2 AP classes so she will have a heavy coarse lode this year.
DH bought me a spinning wheel a little while back and I have been working on learning how to use it, I'm starting to get the hang of it. Found some wool yarn at Salvation Army last week will post a picture of all later.
