shopping

Went shopping yesterday with DD and bought a bunch of yarn a nd 2 books. I got some wool ease in two different colors white and denim twist(two shades of blue twisted together) , some #3 crochet cotton to try for socks, 3 skeins of patton Devine in white (it is soft and fuzzy). The books I bought were Family Circle Plus Size Knits, and The Ultimite Tee
Right now I am working on a wrap with two strands of chenelle will be interesting to see how it comes out

My socks

Well I haven't posted in a while. It has been hectec. The Loop Group met last Tuesday and then Patty and I went to the new yarn store. She has a nice start with lots of room. Not a whole lot of yarns yet but she has only been open a few months. The selection she has is very nice and good prices too. I will be returning for sure.
I finished my first socks for myself and am very happy with the results. They are not tight on the legs like comercial brands are so I believe I will be making more.

February 7th

I got a lot done on my socks today, just about another inch to get to the toe of the first sock. Steph was at the dentist this afternoon getting the rest of her braces on, took about 1 1/2 hours and they were late getting started. Worked all weekend was able to do just a l ittle bit on my socks. Tammy at work wants to learn to knit, I have said I would teach her on a day we worked together.

Well finished my tea cosy today. They do work kept my tea nice and warm(no more cold second cups). Have decided to make a pair of socks. Knit and Chat a forum on Delphi is having a Great American Sock Adventure, they are getting people to knit socks with a chat every evening to help those that need it. I don't think I will need help at this point but may when I get to the toe. The toe is closed with a Kitchener stitch and I haven't done that before. I should be able to figure it out with some directions.

Monday

Well today was a busy day. DD had a dentist appt. she is getting braces had the brakets put on today. Then had to go up tothe school for a parents meeting about sports(she is a manager for the track team). Spent Sunday with my sister and mother (sis had the kids for the weekend) they live about 2 1/2 hours away so it was an all day thing. Finished half of my tea cosy today will finish the other half soon, will post a picture when it is done.
