I'm a movie star

Yesterday was a fun day. Tom had a gentleman contact him about being in a movie he was filming about the Civil War. He had me contact the ladies of the Golden Tea Cup about appearing in the movie also. Penny, Matt and Jean came and we had fun. One of Tom's friends from the Historical Society call a bunch of people who also showed up. It was good they did because it gave us more ladies, the down side was most of them were not dressed period correctly. I hope to have some pictures soon.

WWKIP day

This year there was an acutal event for WWKIP day. Joan of the Local Needle (a lys) and the shop owner from a shop in St Augustine sponsered the event. We all met at the Spanish Bakery in St Augustine. My DD,Stephanie and my friend Mary Ann came along, It was quite fun and we had many knitters show up. Joan had the funniest thing she called it her yarn boobs, two ball shaped yarn holders on a string to hold around your neck.

Exchanges

So far this year I have taken part in 2 exchanges on Delphi. The first was this spring and it was a dish cloth exchange. I got three lovely cloths and a few other goodies. Then I already received my package for the summer exchange some more dish cloths and other goodies, stitch markers and some stitch holders.

Historical weedend

In April of this year Stephanie and I again spent the weekend at a Civil War era fort portraing women from that time period. This year her friend Patti went with us. A good time was had by all and we learned many things also. My dresses didn't fit very well as I have lost weight but I don't want to make any new ones yet as I plan to lose more befor I am done. We had two gentlemen join us this year, Matt who is Penny's husband and Tom who is Shorty's SO.

Finished items

I decided it was time to finish some items that had been around for a while. The biggest one was an afgan I started about 5 years ago. It was made with over 200 2inch granny squares and when pieced together it became a teddy bear. I had no trouble getting the squares made but it took forever to put it all together. Well it is finally done.
I then frogged a pair of socks I was making, it was a plain sock out of Cascade Fixation. I plan on redoing them in a different pattern and will attempt two socks on two circulars to prevent the dreaded second sock syndrom.
