Socks

Finally started on a pair of socks from the Cascade Fixation yarn I bought this summer when visiting Nancy. I have joined a sock knitalong on one of the forums I visit on a regular basis, it is a sock a month. I have done about 2 inches for a cuff and will continue for a short leg before turning the heel. Will post pictures of the socks when they are done.
I ordered some sock yarn from Mary Maxim , the yarn seems interesting it has Aloe in the yarn. It will be very interesting to see how it knits up.

Sad days and ups and downs

Haven't done much knitting lately. After the mad rush to finish the clothing for reenacting haven't felt much like any craft. Had to revise the gift ideas for sister-in-law, did get a dish cloth done but the top front had to be frogged down to the ribbing so had to put it aside for now. I may finish it for next year.
Doing a lot of things around the house, we purchased a large garage/storage shed and Tom is clearing out the small shed for me to use as a craft room. He thinks he has most of the stuff out of it but have a long way to go before I can use it.
We had a bad few days last week, think Steph felt it the most. Had to have out dog put down. He was 14 so we knew we wouldn't have him for much longer but had to bring him to the vet Wed. and she felt it was time. Said it looked like he had cancer as he wasn't going to the bathroom like he should have and was losing weight even though he was eating. When we were there he just layed on the exam table when he usually was all over the table. It was sad but we felt it was for the best, he looked so ill I don't think he would have lasted the weekend.
