Saturday

It is Saturday and I'm playing hooky from work(took the day off). The kids are spending the weekend with thier Aunt Sue so just me and DH in the house, it is quiet! Plenty of time to work on my knitting.
I have a co-worker that wants to learn to knit, she says she was taught many years ago but has forgotten how. So next time we work together(work load permitting) we will have a knitting class. I have another co-worker that has just learned to knit and another one who wants me to help her with her crocheting. It seems to work that if people see you knit often enough they want to learn too!
Still working on dish cloths, doing another FL cloth. After this cloth is done I plan to make a tea cosy. I'm tired of having to warm up the last cup in the pot, and it is only a 2 cup pot!.

Dish cloth

I finished the dish cloth today. Had to knit slowly as my finger is still sore. Bought a thimble to see if it would help but is difficult to use. Hopefully it will heal fast so I can knit more. I will post a picture , it has the shape of the state of Florida and it's initals.

Tom's socks

Well I finished Tom's socks today the picture is of him modeling them. I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick. The pattern I used was a free one from About.com called Baba's Bed socks. I didn't make the cuff as long as the pattern called for, I didn't want anything going up too far on the leg, he is diabetic and his feet are always cold. He says they are nice and warm. They took me just about a week to do one #8 dpn needles.

Loop Group

Met with a group of fellow knitters today, The Loop Group. It is a branch of the local chapter of TKGA. We have fun with this group. We mostly share about what we are knitting and help each other with problems if we have them. We will talk about books that we have read, any other news we may have. I had to share with them that I had heard of a new yarn store. This one is closer than the other stores that we know of. Then of course we go out to lunch together.

ponchos

I made ponchos for two of my nieces for Christmas this past year. Catherine's was made with Lion Brand Jiffy yarn with Bernat Fur Out trim. Melina's was made with two strand of a worsted wieght yarn that I have had for a while with Lion Brand Fun Fur trim. Each poncho took about a week to make using #11 cicular needles.

the begining

This is my first time doing a blog. It is Sunday and I was just playing around on the computer. I have been knitting a pair of sock-slippers for my husband(his feet are always cold) and desided to try something new on the computer. Hopefully before this is done I will have pictures and more on this site.
